안녕하세요.. 저희는 커네티컷에 위치한 예일대 에서 45분 정도 거리에 떨어진 뉴헤이븐 카우니에 위치한 사우스버리 라는 곳에 살고 있으며 7학년에 올라가는 아들 (12세) 7개월된 딸아이가 함께 생활하고 있지요. 저 역시 15년전 미국 유학생활을 하며 힘들었던 시간들이 있었고.. 제가 항상 집에서 아이들을 교육시키며 살다보니 한국 학생들이나 외국인 학생들이 저 처럼 새로운 유학생활을 할때 도움이 되는 일이라면 가장 잘할수 있는 일이라 홈스테이를 결정하게 되었습니다.
이곳 지역은 뉴저지나 뉴욕으로 부터 1시간 30분정도 떨어진곳이라 한국인이 많이 거주치 않으며 백인이 주를 이루는 타운입니다. 좋은 학군을 가지고 있으며 조용한 타운이죠.

The Rooms for Home Stay

These are the rooms that the children will stay in.
They will both have desks and furniture that the children wishes to bring.

We also have the facilities of a town/club outdoor swimming pool. We also have a small dog. She is caged and does not bite though.

Home Stay in U.S. Information

1. Location: Southbury, CT (New Haven County) 45 minutes away from Yale University. Southbury is a peaceful little town. It has a good school district. Many great schools are nearby our house.

2. School Information: a.Chase Collegiate School (Waterbury CT~ 15 miles away from my home). Pre-K - 12th grade. Coeducational and 512 students enrolled. Homepage: www.chasecollegiate.org. Open House Oct. 4th, 2009.

b. Wooster School (Danbury CT~ 20 miles from my home). Pre-K - 12th grade. A teacher to student ratio of 1:10. Coeducational private school. Homepage: www.woosterschool.org. Open House ~ Nov. 7th, 2009

c. Rumsey Hall School ( Washington Depot, CT ~ 18 miles away). Pre-K to 9th grade. 314 students enrolled. Homepage: www.rumseyhall.org.

3. Our Home Introduction: I have 2 children. One is in 7th grade and one is a 7 months. I was a foreigner student in the U.S. when I went to college 15 years ago. Now I want to open a homestay business. That is the way I can help other foreigner students like I once was. I can serve as their guardian and drop and pick up like my children. If wanted I can arrange a tutuoring service and afterschool activities (School sports, music, community service, etc.) Our house is a 4 bedroom, 1 office room, 3 bathroom house. I am available for 2 students (I can give each student a seperate room). We have a wireless computer system. 3 meals a day including one Korean meal. If they want I can pack them a lunch. I can also drop and pick them up from the airport. If they want to go to a boarding schools such as Taft, Hotchkiss, Rosemary Hall, and Choate. I can act as a legal guardian for them. Most importantly, I just want to get more kids to join my family.
